“Saudi Arabia rarely allows foreigners access to film in the Kingdom, so the unprecedented entry Gornall and her crew received gives a rare insight into these women’s lives”

Filmed and Directed

This one hour documentary followed a number of women and their families as women were legally able to drive for the first time in Saudi Arabia. Explored their views on women’s rights and their aspirations at a time when women had been imprisoned for campaigning for the right to drive and other rights. It was a rare platform for some women to be seen and heard beyond Saudi Arabia. Filmed on location for three months in 2018/19.

Conducted radio and press interviews for the film in the UK and USA. The film was premiered in NYC.
